To ensure its dream China combined developing Chinese architectural skills with western experience including Lord Foster with the design for Beijing Airport Terminal 3 (left) and Arup’s work on Olympic stadiums and the CBD‘s futuristic skyline. In desiring to achieve the very best in the world, the country was prepared to look beyond its borders for the world's top architectural and construction expertise. However the design companies such as Arup recruited mainly local talent.
